Martínez Valero Stadium has a capacity for 39,000 spectators
A good climate (an average of 26ºC in summer and 17ºC in winter and rare rainfall), the combination of countryside and beaches in the same area and the availability of a large network of sporting facilities, both public and private, make it possible to do all kinds of sports all year round.

This range of facilities makes it possible for over 35,000 people to practise their favourite sport every week. Sports associations and beginners’ clubs, as well as the local sports schools strengthen the work of the lower categories and give young people a good start to a healthier life.
The Sports City is the key sports area in Elche and covers an area of 150,000 m2. It has several pitches and courts, a climbing wall and a covered pavilion with a heated swimming pool. Martínez Valero Stadium can be found nearby, one of the biggest in Spain with a capacity to seat 39,000 spectators.
Swimming pool in the El Plà Sports ParkCarrús Sports Centre, the Sports Park, los Palmerales Sports Centre, El Plà Sports Park, Altabix and Toscar Sports Centres form part of the municipal facilities along with centres located in the main districts such as Torrellano, El Altet and La Marina. This is complemented by private clubs such as the Squash Club, Elche Tennis Club or the Clay Pigeon Shooting Society. All in all there are 80 centres and 214 sporting areas according to the National Sports Facilities Census.
